Defrosting the economy in Poland and in the world
The day of the coronavirus pandemic is a huge economic decline, dormant market. Both Polish and entrepreneurs from around the world must adapt quickly to new operating conditions and take advantage of the new possibilities of the situation. Most of the affected countries from crisis management mode go into planning and slow loosening of restrictions. Return to normal functioning of the economy is not a simple or fast process. For a long time, the business market will not function as it did just a few months ago. It is likely that the pandemic situation will always have an impact on the economic situation, which will switch to a different path.
Stages of thawing the economy – Poland
• Stage I: Shops with an area of less than 100 square meters will be able to enter a maximum of as many people as the number of all cash registers or payment points multiplied by 4 (effective from April 20)
• Stage II: Opening construction stores on weekends as well as hotels and other accommodation (with restrictions), some cultural institutions, such as libraries, museums and art galleries.
• Stage III: Opening of hairdressers and beauticians, shopping malls (with restrictions) and gastronomic premises for stationary activities (also with restrictions). Sporting events of up to 50 people will be admitted (in open space, without audience participation).
• Stage IV: Opening of massage parlors, gyms and fitness clubs. Theaters and cinemas will be opened, but on new sanitary principles.
Thawing the economy – the world
USA
For now, there is no road map for returning to normality in the world’s largest economy. The restrictions would like to endure the US at the beginning of May. Governors on the East Coast have announced they want to cooperate in defrosting the economy, but have not given specific dates yet. The situation is difficult there and unemployment is very high.
Europe and Asia
The national quarantine in France is expected to last until May 11th. If the epidemiological situation stabilizes by then, the government will gradually defrost the economy.
In Spain, manufacturing and construction companies can return to work until April 13th, provided they can provide their employees with personal protective equipment. National quarantine is scheduled for April 26th.
In Austria, all stores with an area of up to 400 sq m are open from April 14th. From May 2nd, shopping malls and hairdressers will open, and two weeks later they will be joined by restaurants and hotels.
The thawing of the economy in the Czech Republic began on April 20th. Markets and car dealerships have returned to operation. Currently, stores with an area of up to 200 sq m have joined them, and on May 11th they will be added to 1 thousand. sqm. On May 25th, Czechs will be able to return to the restaurant and go to the hairdresser. All stores will open on June 8th.
A larger number of stores have been opened in Italy than before. Italians can, in addition to stores with basic items, also go to points with stationery, children’s items and a bookstore. Some industries are also coming back to work, e.g. forestry. The factories are closed at least until the beginning of May.
The worst is ahead of the countries in which the pandemic is just developing. The epidemiological situation in Russia looks worse day by day. In turn, the Indonesian authorities want to introduce the first forced quarantine, which will cover more than 30 out of 220 million inhabitants of the country.
At the beginning of March, China began to defrost its economy. This process is still ongoing. At first, the lack of employees slowed him down. Now restrictions that are not fully lifted do not allow this. Air and rail connections with Wuhan will not return until the end of April.
