Foreigners intending to open a&nbsp;bank account in Poland face some difficulties.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"opening-a-bank-account-by-unregistered-individuals\"><\/span>Opening a&nbsp;bank account by unregistered individuals<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>If you are not registered in Poland (i.e. you do not have a&nbsp;registered address), you must first fill in the form personally at the bank. After positive verification (it usually takes a&nbsp;few days), you will be able to create an account.<\/p>\n<p>This also applies to foreign companies. To set up a&nbsp;bank account for the company, all partners and board members must personally complete and submit this form to the bank.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"different-requirements-at-different-bank-branches\"><\/span>Different requirements at different bank branches<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Each bank has its own formal requirements. It is also nothing new that banks are refusing to open an account to some people outside the European Union.<\/p>\n<p>Below is a&nbsp;general list of required documents that foreigners may be asked to provide when opening an account at most banks in Poland:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; PESEL number (very rarely, rather auxiliary)<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; passport \/ ID &#8211; a&nbsp;document confirming identity<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; residence card (not in all banks)<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; a&nbsp;document confirming the right of permanent residence in Poland; &#8211; confirmation of residence registration or a&nbsp;residential property purchase contract in the customer&#8217;s name or a&nbsp;residential property rental contract in the customer&#8217;s name, concluded for a&nbsp;period of at least 12 months (document required very often)<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; an employment contract or a&nbsp;management contract or a&nbsp;written declaration of the employer or an entity authorized to entrust a&nbsp;citizen of the European Union with the performance of work on the intention to entrust him with work in the territory of the Republic of Poland for a&nbsp;period of at least 12 months (not at all banks)<\/p>\n<p><strong>IMPORTANT!<\/strong> Most banks have to show up in person to open a&nbsp;bank account. In some branches, you can open an account by granting a&nbsp;power of attorney to a&nbsp;selected person.
