Legal residence of Ukrainian citizens on the territory of Poland - important changes
Once the new regulations of the Law on Assistance to Citizens of Ukraine enter into force, the period of their legal stay on the territory of Poland (and certain members of their families) will be extended until 4 March 2024.
In addition, there will be new changes that will further extend the period of legal residence.
Until 31 August 2024:
- persons who, on 4 March 2024, will be receiving pre-school education, will be pursuing compulsory schooling or will be pursuing compulsory education and, if these persons are minors, also their parents or guardians;
- persons who, on 4 March 2024, will be receiving pre-school education or schooling in the Ukrainian educational system with the use of distance education methods and techniques, and if such persons are minors – also their parents or guardians;
- persons who, no later than in the school year 2022/2023, commenced education in an upper secondary vocational school, post-secondary school or adult school, and if these persons are minors – also their parents or guardians.
Until 30 September 2024:
persons who take the matriculation examination on a resit date, and if these persons are minors – also their parents and guardians.
Analogous extensions to 4 March 2024 will be granted for documents/periods of validity permitting residence and whose deadlines expire before the aforementioned date.
