Planned changes in employment and tax breaks related to the Russian aggression against Ukraine

The government of the Republic of Poland is currently working on tax breaks for companies and tax exemptions for individuals supporting and offering help to people from Ukraine. Changes to the VAT regulation have also been announced, but no details.

The principles of employment opportunities for people from Ukraine are also to be simplified. The changes will include:

– People fleeing the war in Ukraine will not need a visa to work legally in Poland.

– For employment, it is sufficient to have a certificate from the border and to report it by the employer as an employee of the poviat labor office.

One of the industries that awaits these facilitations is trade. Retail chains may soon employ several thousand people from Ukraine.
